This is how you simply exchange your old handels for new leather handels

After we moved into our new house, we started all sorts of do-it-yourself projects. Among other things, we renovated our hallway and painted the ceiling, walls, door frames and closet doors white and replaced the old handles on the closet doors with new black leather handles. In this guide we would like to show how easy it is to exchange the old handels for new leather handels.

Preparations before ordering the leather handles

Before the handles are ordered, you need to know the relevant dimensions. See points 1 and 2 for more information.

Once you have determined the dimensions, you can order the leather handles here.

Point 1: First measure the distance from center to center of the screw holes. In the photo below, the distance is 12.8 cm.

Item 2: Measure the thickness of the cabinet door/drawer.

Assembly of the leather handles

When you receive your handels, you will find the following in the box:

• Leather handles
• screw for mounting

To assemble the handles you need:

• 2 screwdrivers
• If there are already holes that match the handles, or if the holes have a diameter of less than 5 mm, a drill and a 5 mm drill bit are required.

Step 3: Remove the old handles

Point 4: Make sure that the diameter of the holes is large enough (5mm) so that the bolts and cylinders provided will fit the holes.

If the holes are not large enough, you can use a 5mm drill bit to enlarge the holes.

You can quickly tell if the holes are big enough by sticking the cylinder in one of the holes. See photos below.

Point 5: To mount the handles, put the screw through the hole in the handle and then put the screw in the hole on the front of the cabinet/drawer.

Mount the handle with 2 screwdrivers. One screwdriver is used to hold the front screw in place so it doesn't turn when the back screw is tightened.

Tighten the screws securely to ensure the handle is securely attached to the cabinet/drawer.
