About byRavn
byRavn was founded in 2013 with the urge to create something we couldn't find in stores. The idea for most of our products thus arose because we ourselves needed a nice shelf, a beautiful key ring, or a simple and durable belt.
Leather in focus from the start
When we started in 2013 and in the following years, we exclusively made products from leather.
From the beginning, our leather products have been characterized by a simple and timeless design with long durability. Our leather products are made from full-grain leather sourced from Danish and Swedish cows. Each piece of leather is completely unique and will therefore have scars and folds, which simply reminds us that the leather comes from a living cow that has lived a good life. When you receive your product and start using it, you will find that the leather develops as you use it. Over time, the leather will acquire a beautiful patina, which only gives the product more soul and charm.
All our leather products are made in our own workshop just outside Kolding. We believe in unique and tailored products. We therefore offer you the opportunity to design and personalize your product, which you can customize so that it becomes completely unique and perfect for you or a loved one.
Jewellery is added
In 2022, we added jewellery to our product range, which today is a well-integrated and important part of our assortment. Like our leather products, our jewellery can be custom-made and adapted to your wishes. With jewellery on the shelves, we can now offer an even wider selection of personalized gift items.

Sustainability
Sustainability is of great importance to us, and it is something we prioritize highly. We are therefore very grateful that we have the opportunity to work with leather, which in our opinion is a sustainable material.
Leather products have a long lifespan and are durable. Furthermore, leather only becomes more beautiful with use, which is a rather nice bonus.
Sustainability at byRavn:
1. Our leather products are designed and produced in our own workshop, while our jewellery is produced by our supplier in China.
2. We ensure that the leather is not treated with harmful substances. The cowhide is tanned before we receive it. A range of different substances and chemicals can be used for leather treatment, some of which can be harmful and carcinogenic. In Europe, we have REACH, which is a European standard for chemical legislation. When producing or trading leather, one must ensure compliance with REACH requirements. We have therefore ensured that our supplier complies with REACH and therefore does not use chromium(VI) or harmful azo dyes when treating the leather.
Leather is typically tanned in two different ways: chrome tanning and vegetable tanning. We only use vegetable-tanned leather. This method is by far the most gentle for the environment, climate, and you.
3. The cowhide is a by-product. It would simply be too expensive to raise cows solely for their hides.
4. When we ship your order, we use as little packaging as possible - yet enough to ensure your product is not damaged during transit. We do not print delivery notes, packing lists, or invoices – the latter you will receive by email.
5. With us, you get products of good quality. We use beautiful, strong full-grain leather, create uniform products with nicely centered embossing of your text, and the products have a fine finish with rounded edges and corners. It is better to buy good quality than to replace the product after a short time.
6. And we constantly strive to monitor how we can make our business even more sustainable.
